Why is the insurance agent more important than ever?
Right now – why is the insurance agent more important than ever?
In the days when the State of Israel is facing complex security challenges, uncertainty and concerns on the civilian front – the role of the insurance agent is sharpening, transforming from a profession into a human, personal and meaningful service.
The insurance agent is no longer a technical conduit. He is the person who understands the situation, who speaks at eye level, who knows how to make what is needed accessible – and most importantly, who is there for the customer when it really matters.
The Oren Mizrahi Group, as the largest agency group in Israel, sees this period not only as a challenge – but as a mission. A mission to maintain a strong connection with the insured
To ensure that each and every one receives the information, support and service they deserve – and to truly be there.
The role of the agent during a crisis
• Maintain a human connection – make sure that customers know that we have not forgotten them, that we are here for them.
• Make information accessible – explain in simple language what they deserve, what is covered and how we operate.
• Demonstrate true empathy – understand the difficulty, the fear, and provide a response from the heart.
• Assist with claims and bureaucracy – help the client not feel alone in the face of forms, authorities, and the system.
• Be stable when the living environment is shaken – that’s when the true meaning of insurance is measured.
At Oren Mizrahi Group, we are proud of our agents, who work every day under pressure, stress, and difficult challenges, yet choose to act with care, listening, and genuine support for the insured.
To our clients: Know that we are here for you. Not only when you need to renew a policy, but especially when you need someone to talk to, understand the path through, and know that someone has your back.
And to agents: Keep doing what you are doing because right now, the insurance agent is a national resource.
It is important for us to keep you updated on everything related to exercising your rights in insurance policies and property tax macro compensation.
Below are the information on the subject:
Home insurance and car insurance
The standard insurance policy does not cover the risk of war or terrorist damage. In the case of a nationalist arson terrorist attack, these are war damages, and the address for compensation is the Property Tax Compensation Fund.
• During or at the end of the tour, appraisers on behalf of the state will visit and assess the damages. Accordingly, the restoration will be carried out by professionals provided by the state or on behalf of the insured and at his/her choice.
• Direct telephone contact must be made with Property Tax 4954* or an online claim must be submitted using the link up to 14 days from the event and a claim must be submitted to the Compensation Fund within 3 months:

• Equipment, inventory or any object must not be removed without prior coordination with an appraiser from the Compensation Fund, and damage must not be repaired without the appraiser’s inspection. The vehicle may not be repaired without prior approval from the Compensation Fund.
Building Insurance
Full insurance coverage is provided by property tax without paying a premium for the apartment structure of the state’s residents. The compensation will be in the rehabilitation of the damaged structure or its reconstruction. Alternatively, an alternative housing solution during the rehabilitation period. Either way, the amount of compensation will be determined by the appraiser’s assessment and the decision whether to rehabilitate or rebuild is made by engineers on behalf of the Government Compensation Fund.
Contents Insurance
The Compensation Fund provides partial insurance coverage limited to personal belongings in the residential apartment of approximately 100,000 NIS (depending on the number of people in the house)
• Household items are classified by groups: furniture, clothing, electrical and electronic appliances and household items
• Others. The above household items are covered without paying a premium on the part of the resident – up to a ceiling as specified
• On the Tax Authority website. The law does not cover works of art, jewelry, antiques and cash.
• Expanding coverage of contents beyond the payment ceiling in the law will be possible on the Tax Authority website for a fee
• Insurance of 0.3% of the additional value and in an amount not to exceed NIS 979,624 (as of today) until the end of the year.
Business insurance
Business policies do not cover terrorism and/or war damage.
If terrorism coverage is purchased separately, the coverage does not apply to war damage and provides coverage for property only unless coverage for loss of profits is also purchased.
Property tax also compensates for damages from loss of income for business owners located in Sefer settlements unless the state decides otherwise at the time of the event (as was the case in Moshmor Homot and Protective Edge)
Travel Insurance Abroad
• Any expense or loss incurred due to flight cancellation is not covered by insurance companies and eligibility must be checked through the airline.
• Insurance companies have automatically extended the policies for at least 48 hours, some have automatically extended them until June 22. At no cost and without the need for a proactive contact.
